Fairway Puck
Sire: Fairway Jonathan
Dam: Fairway Jillian
(9.1 /2hh, 17/10/71 - 3/4/04) |
Originally we bred both Shetland and Welsh Ponies at Otway View. However, the Welsh were taken over by our daughter Vicki under the "Oak Park" prefix.
Foundation mares were Fairway, Barrymoor, and Green Valley bloodlines. We then used the Wells bred ponies imported by Lesley Kidd and George Barrett to give our Shetlands more bone.
During a trip to the Centenary Show in Scotland in 1990, we were impressed by the ponies used in the musical ride - all up to height and with good bone. This useful type was what we were aiming to breed.
The purchase of Fairway Puck was the making of Otway View Stud. His beautiful temperament along with near perfect conformation and head can be seen in all his offspring. He was a prolific winner in led and saddle classes at major shows.
